Salem Run'ucopia Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot 6K / 10K / 15K
Salem Run'ucopia is a chip-timed set of runs held Thanksgiving morning at Salem Riverfront Park with start and finish at the pavilion. The course tours the connected urban park system and crosses the new bridge into Minto Brown Island Park. The 15K includes an out-and-back that returns onto a dirt trail for a loop; the 10K is a simple out-and-back with a marked turnaround; the 6K follows a loop closer to four miles.
Distances offered:
- 1K kids run for ages 6 and under, free with a signed waiver
- 6K run/walk (about 4 miles)
- 10K run (about 6.2 miles)
- 15K run (about 9.3 miles)
The event provides age group ribbons and special gifts for top three men and women in each distance. Walkers and stroller users are welcome; walkers are asked to keep right so runners can pass on the left. Dogs are not permitted. Early packet pickup is available the day before at Gallagher's Fitness Resources downtown. A family discount is offered for groups of four or more when registering online. Raffle items, commemorative photos, and refreshments from Dutch Bros are available while supplies last. Charity partners include Outward Church and Salem Harvest, with optional donations listed on the registration form. Recycling and minimal waste practices are encouraged.
