About the race
The LewisGale Salem Half Marathon, 8K and Kids Fun Run takes place on October 10, 2026, in Salem, Virginia. The events center on the Salem Farmers Market at 3 E. Main St., with courses that pass through local neighborhoods, Roanoke College, and the downtown business district. Both in-person and virtual options are offered.

The event is produced by the LewisGale Salem Half Marathon, 8K and Kids Fun Run in partnership with Blue Ridge Racing. The kids runs are open to ages 4 to 12; the half marathon lists eligibility beginning at age 12. The series is connected to the Virginia's Blue Ridge Triple Crown: participants who complete the Foot Levelers Blue Ridge Full or Half Marathon and the Star City Half Marathon in the same year can earn the Triple Crown medal. An alternative Triple Crown Sprint Series is noted for completing the Blue Ridge Star-K or relay, the Salem 8K, and the Star City 10K.
