Salcombe Brewery Co Sprint Triathlon
The Salcombe Brewery Co Sprint Triathlon is a multisport event starting from North Sands in the seaside town of Salcombe. This competition takes participants through local villages including Salcombe, Hope, and Galmpton. The event consists of three distinct segments:
- 700m open water swim in the bay at North Sands.
- 19km road cycle through the South Hams countryside.
- 3km trail run into the valley behind North Sands.
The bike course features numerous undulations, including steep inclines and declines toward the sea. After passing Inner and Outer Hope, participants face an ascent toward Malborough followed by a return to North Sands along the escarpment with several switchbacks. The final run portion follows a winding trail track with a gentle ascent toward Lower Collaton before returning to the event headquarters.
If sea conditions are deemed unsafe for the swim on the morning of the event, the race will revert to a duathlon format. Participants who are not annual members of the British Triathlon Federation are required to purchase a race pass during the registration process to ensure insurance coverage and licensing.
Facilities at the event include medical support, full route marking, and a feed station. Participants receive a medal upon completion, and photography services are available on-site. Five percent of the event revenue is donated to the RNLI charity fund. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
