Salcombe Brewery Co Sprint Triathlon
The Salcombe Brewery Co Sprint Triathlon is based at North Sands, Salcombe TQ8 8LD and combines open water swimming, road cycling and a trail run through the local villages of Salcombe, Hope and Galmpton. The course uses the bay, local roads and coastal trails.
Distances:
- 700 m swim in the bay
- 19 km cycle on undulating roads with steep sections
- 3 km trail run into the valley behind North Sands
The bike course includes several sharp inclines and rolling downhills through South Hams countryside, a climb towards Malborough and a finishing section along the escarpment into North Sands with a few switchbacks. The run follows a trail route with a gentle ascent to Lower Collaton and a winding descent back to North Sands.
The entry fee is £65 and entry on the day is available if the event is not sold out. Included for participants are event centre facilities, a Salcombe Sprint Triathlon medal, medical support, full route marking, rider public liability insurance, a feed stop, event photography and prizes for first and second placed male and female finishers.
Non British Triathlon Federation members must purchase a Race Pass for day membership, a race licence and public liability cover. If sea conditions are unsafe the event will revert to a duathlon. The organiser will donate 5% of event revenue to the Salcombe RNLI and participants are encouraged to raise £25 for the charity. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
