Event overview

The Devon and Cornwall Backyard Ultra is a timed loop endurance event held over the weekend of Saturday 29th to Sunday 30th August 2026. The format requires participants to complete a loop of 4.167 miles every hour. Each circuit must be finished in less than 60 minutes; when only one runner remains, that runner is the event winner. The event record stands at 30 laps. The event is organised by Bowel Cancer West and all entry income is stated to support people living with bowel cancer and to fund research and training.

Entry, logistics and facilities

Entries open on 15 October 2025 and close on 27 August 2026. The published entry fees are £75.00 and £95.00 (the higher fee applies from 01/02/2026). Minimum age to enter is 18 on the event date. Entry requires registration and an account with SiEntries. Camping is included in the entry and is available from Friday 29th August until Sunday 31st August or until the event finishes. The event site provides an accessible toilet and sanitary bins that are stoma friendly. A free hair-plaiting service may be available on site, with donations to the charity encouraged.
