Devon and Cornwall Mini Backyard Ultra
The event takes place at Newnham Park in Plympton, Devon on 27 August 2027. It is a short, evening version of a Backyard Ultra aimed at support crews, family, friends and the general public who want to take part in a single or double lap.
Participants choose on the day to run one lap or to attempt a second lap. Each lap is four miles. If a runner does not return before the lap cutoff they may still continue onto lap two. There is a dog-friendly entry option and a prize for the overall dog.
The event lists several informal awards including overall winner, first crew across the line, best dressed and overall doggy. Minimum age to enter is 16 years. Entries open on 11 September 2026 and close on 26 August 2027. Entry fees listed include a Mini Backyard single or double lap, a Crew Challenge, and a Mini Backyard with Doggy friend, each shown at £12.50.
All money raised will go to supporting the work of the organiser, Bowel Cancer West. The event provides a short, no pressure opportunity to experience the Backyard Ultra format in a single-evening setting. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
