Event Overview
The SAK Strong 5K Run/Walk takes place in West Peabody at Lt. Ross Park, also known as Cy Tenny. This memorial event supports the SAK Strong Foundation and features multiple participation options for runners and walkers.
The available events include:
- 5K Run/Walk
- 1 Mile Walk
- Youth Fun Run
Course Details
The 5K and 1 mile courses are designed as out-and-back routes. Participants will navigate a combination of paved roads and hard-packed trails along the Peabody Independence Greenway. Both events share a start and finish line at Lt. Ross Park. The 5K route includes one water station. For younger participants, the Youth Fun Run consists of a shorter distance, including a 400-meter and 1/4-mile option.
Post-Race Activities and Amenities
Participants receive access to a post-race party featuring live music, food trucks, and lawn games. Each entry for the run or walk includes a custom short-sleeve performance shirt for those registered by the early September deadline, as well as one beverage ticket for participants aged 21 and over.
The 5K event is professionally timed using bib chips. Awards are presented to the top three overall male, female, and non-binary finishers, as well as the top three finishers in age groups ranging from under 19 to over 90. Minimal parking is available at the venue on a first-come, first-served basis, with overflow parking located nearby at Kiley Brothers Memorial School.
