Event Overview
The Saint Nick Six is an annual community event held in South Bend, Indiana, hosted by Saint Joseph Grade School. This event marks its 18th year and takes place in early December to coincide with the feast day of Saint Nicholas. The race serves as a gathering for the school and local community, offering several distances for participants to choose from.
Course Details
The race begins at Saint Joseph Grade School and follows a route along the east bank trail. Participants travel north toward Holy Cross College before returning to the school. The course is professionally chip-timed. Due to the seasonal timing, participants are advised to be mindful of winter weather conditions and footing along the trail.
Available Distances
- 6k Run (3.72 miles): Includes a tech shirt and finisher medal.
- 3k Run (1.86 miles): Includes a tech shirt and finisher medal.
- 3k Walk (1.86 miles): Includes a tech shirt; strollers are permitted on this course.
- 60 Yards (Run Run Rudolph): A short sprint for children in first grade or younger.
Awards and Amenities
Participants in the running events receive a long-sleeve tech style shirt and a finisher medal. Awards are presented to the overall male and female winners of the 6k Run, as well as the top finishers in age categories ranging from 8 and younger to 70 and older. The 3k Run also provides awards for overall finishers and specific age groups. A post-race celebration is held in the Saint Joseph Parish Gymnasium.
