Sail to the Finish 2M Run
The Sail to the Finish 2M Run is an out-and-back road course located in Middlebury, Connecticut. The event starts at the Quassapaug Sailing Center and follows a route where the first mile consists of a downhill section, followed by a return trip back up the incline. This event serves as a fundraiser for the Quassapaug Sailing Center, a nonprofit organization that provides sailing instruction and operates seasonal programs like the Sails to Trails summer camp for children.
Participating athletes can compete for various awards. Recognition is given to the overall male and female finishers, as well as the top three participants in several age categories ranging from 19 and under to 70 and up. Because the race coincides with International Harry Potter Day, participants are encouraged to wear costumes for a chance to win a specific costume award.
Due to limited space at the venue, race entries are restricted and carpooling is encouraged for all attendees. Pets are not permitted on the course.
