Sage City Triathlon
The Sage City Triathlon takes place in Monticello, Illinois, at 601 W. Railroad St and is organized by Kirby Medical Center and the City of Monticello. The venue includes a shallow-depth pool and a course reported to be in good condition.
Three event options are offered:
- Sprint: 300 m swim, 13.5 mile bike, 3.1 mile run
- Sprint Relay: 300 m swim, 13.5 mile bike, 3.1 mile run
- Mini: 100 m swim, 5 mile bike, 1 mile run
Registration opens March 1. Organizers state there will be no late registration and no on-site registration. Participants who register by 11:59pm CST on July 14 will receive a free race shirt; shirts are available for pick up on race morning.
The transition area opens on race morning and athlete marking is conducted on the basketball court. Post-race food for athletes includes sandwiches, chips, and drinks.
Awards are presented for top 3 male and top 3 female overall; top 3 male and top 3 female in each listed age group (14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+); and top 3 Clydesdale, top 3 Athena, and top 3 relays. The event is not USAT sanctioned and a USAT one-day pass or USAT number is not required for registration or packet pickup. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
