Clinton Lake Ultra
The Clinton Lake Ultra is a trail running event in Illinois. It takes place at Clinton Lake State Recreation Area, starting at the North Fork Trailhead Parking lot.
The event offers two distances: a 30-mile and a 10-mile race. The 30-mile course consists of three loops on a 10-mile trail. The trail is mostly single-track and runs through forest, hills, and meadows. Each loop has approximately 1500 feet of elevation gain. The event features two fully stocked aid stations per loop.
This is a cup-free event, requiring runners to carry their own bottles or reusable cups for fluids at aid stations. Pacers and early race starts are not permitted.
Registration for the event includes a long-sleeved shirt and a finisher item. The top three male and female runners in each race receive special awards. A mandatory volunteer requirement exists, asking participants to volunteer at another race or do trail work. The event donates a portion of its proceeds to the maintenance of the Clinton Trail.
