Clinton Lake Ultra, March 27, 2027
The Clinton Lake Ultra takes place at Clinton Lake State Recreation Area in DeWitt, IL. The event offers two distances and opens registration on November 11, 2026. The shirt deadline is 11:59 pm on March 1.
- 30 Miler
- 10 Mile
The 30-mile distance is run as three loops of roughly 10 miles each, beginning at the North Fork Trailhead parking lot (boat ramp). The route is almost entirely single-track with a short road and bridge section that connects sides of the loop around the lake. Expect roughly 1,500 feet of elevation gain per loop. There are two fully stocked aid stations on each loop.
Timing and race rules differ from some events: this is a no chip timing event. The event does not provide disposable cups; runners are encouraged to carry a handheld bottle or collapsible cup. Pacers are not allowed and early starts are not permitted. Runners must remain ahead of the sweep crew.
This edition includes a mandatory volunteer requirement; past guidance has allowed volunteering at another race or doing trail work, and submissions are handled on the honor system. The event is part of the 50K MashUp and offers special recognition for MashUp participants. Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers, and all participants receive a long-sleeved item and a finisher item. Weather-appropriate post-race food will be provided.
