Clinton Lake Ultra : DeWitt, IL
The event offers trail races at Clinton Lake State Recreation Area on a looped course. Distances include:
- 30 Miler
- 10 Mile
The course starts at the North Fork Trailhead parking lot (boat ramp) and consists of three loops of ten miles through forest, hills, and meadows. The trail is almost entirely single-track with a short road and bridge connection. Each loop has about 1500 feet of elevation gain and includes two fully stocked aid stations.
This is a no chip timing event. Runners are asked to carry a handheld bottle or a collapsible cup because the race does not provide disposable cups. Pacers are not allowed and early starts are prohibited.
Registration opens November 11, 2026. The shirt deadline is March 1, 2027; registrants after that date are not guaranteed a race sweatshirt. The race is part of the 50K MashUp; runners in that series receive a special recognition item at packet pickup.
A mandatory volunteer requirement applies; participants are expected to perform volunteer work at another race or trail maintenance, typically amounting to roughly four hours on an honor system. Proceeds have been donated to trail maintenance and other local causes in past years, and funds are planned to support Clinton Trail upkeep.
