Clinton Lake Ultra
The Clinton Lake Ultra is a trail running event at Clinton Lake State Recreation Area in DeWitt, IL, held on March 27, 2027. The event offers two race distances:
- 30 Miler (three 10-mile loops)
- 10 Mile
The 30-mile course is comprised of three 10-mile loops through forest, hills, and meadows around the lake. Almost all of the route is single-track, with a short section on road and a bridge that connects two sides of the loop. Each loop includes roughly 1,500 feet of elevation gain. Each loop is served by two fully stocked aid stations. Timing is done without chips.
There is a mandatory volunteer requirement for participants. Organizers accept volunteer work at other races or individual trail work; submission of a form close to race day documents fulfillment. Historically a four-hour minimum has been requested, and the program operates on an honor system with flexible options for how volunteer time is completed.
Additional notes: registration opens November 11, 2026; the shirt order deadline is March 1, 2027. The event is part of the 50K MashUp and 50K MashUp participants receive a recognition item at packet pickup. Race policies include no cups at aid stations, no pacers, and no early starts. Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers; all runners receive a long-sleeved Clinton garment and a finisher item. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
