Clinton Lake Ultra
The Clinton Lake Ultra is scheduled for March 28, 2026 at Clinton Lake State Recreation Area in DeWitt, IL. The event offers the following distances:
- 30 Miler
- 10 Mile
The course starts at the North Fork Trailhead parking lot (boat ramp) and is structured as three loops of roughly 10 miles each. Trails run through forest, hills, and meadows and are almost entirely single track except for a short road and bridge connector. Each loop has about 1500 feet of elevation gain.
Two fully stocked aid stations serve runners on each loop. Timing is performed without chips. Runners must remain ahead of the course sweep.
The event has a mandatory volunteer requirement. Participants are expected to complete a minimum of four hours of volunteer service or trail work, which may be completed at another race or later in the season under an honor system. A form will be provided near race day for reporting volunteer service.
Race rules include no disposable cups at aid stations, no pacers, and no early starts. The event is part of the 50K MashUp and provides a recognition item for participating 50K MashUp runners. Awards are given to the top three female and top three male finishers, and all entrants receive a long sleeved Clinton item and a finisher item.
The race organization has donated proceeds to regional relief and trail projects and plans to support Clinton Trail maintenance. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
