Purpose and background
The run is presented as a memorial race. Since the event began, funds raised have been used to support Bement High School athletics and students. Donations noted in the event description include new girls’ basketball uniforms, new football bleachers, a new sound system for the large gym, and 11 Chromebooks for students. The race’s scholarship program has supported 13 student athletes to continue sports at college. Organizers also note plans under consideration to purchase new shot clocks for the gymnasium for the 2026 basketball season.
