Ryan's Ranch Run

Ryan's Ranch Run is a community running event at Thousand Hills Ranch in Pismo Beach, California. The event features a festival atmosphere after the races with live music, food vendors, local vendors, and raffle prizes. Proceeds benefit 17 Strong and the Central Coast Athletics Foundation.

The course layout uses a mix of paved roads and packed dirt ranch roads that pass through rolling fields and working ranchland. Volunteers and a volunteer mountain bike club provide on-course support, and water stations are available at points on the routes. Awards include official Ryan's Ranch Run cowboy hats for the top 17 overall finishers across the 5K and 10K, and special prizes for overall top male and female finishers. The Kids Mile provides a free t-shirt and a kids' meal for each registered child, and top kids finishers also receive the event hat prizes.

A pre-race tradition, the 17 Strong Victory Lap, honors past and present Victory Trip recipients with a celebratory lap in front of the barn. Team competition is available for groups; teams must register and have at least 10 registered racers in the 5K and 10K to qualify for team awards. Team scoring for fastest team events is based on the combined times of the top five finishers from each team.

• 5K: 3.1 miles, mixed dirt and paved surfaces, scenic loop through ranch fields
• 10K: 6.2 miles, extends deeper into the ranch with an out-and-back section
