Event overview
The La Cuesta Ranch Trail Run takes place at La Cuesta Ranch near San Luis Obispo, CA, on January 24, 2026. The event uses the ranch property, which backs up to Poly Canyon and West Cuesta Ridge, with the start and finish staged at the historic ranch barn. Registration includes a well-marked course, fully stocked aid stations about every three miles with prepackaged foods, water and Hammer Nutrition products, a custom tee shirt, awards for top male and female in each distance, and a custom award for all finishers. Registration closes January 22, 2026. There are no refunds or deferrals.
Course and logistics
The course is 100% dirt trail and ranch roads. Distances are run as looped laps:
- 30K
- 20K
- 10K
The 10km is a single loop run counter clockwise with elevation gain of about 2000 ft and elevation loss of about 2002 ft. The event enforces a cut-off of three hours per loop. Camping and parking are available onsite: primitive, dry camping is permitted on a first-come basis with a per-vehicle campsite fee payable on arrival; onsite parking is subject to a per-vehicle fee payable on arrival.
