Runway 5K at Memphis International Airport
The Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority (MSCAA) presents the 2nd Annual Runway 5K at Memphis International Airport on September 19, 2026. The event routes runners across one of MEM’s runways, providing close-up views of aircraft landing and taking off and access to airport grounds not normally open to the public.
Only registered attendees are permitted on site for security reasons; there will be no day-of-event registrations and no area for spectators. All attendees age 3 and older must register. Children age 2 and under may enter without registration if accompanied by a registered guest. Children 14 and under must be accompanied by a registered adult. Registration closes September 13 at midnight.
Race participants receive a T-shirt and a finisher medal. Proceeds support the Memphis International Airport Community Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that funds civic engagement, education, sustainability, health, and community-supporting initiatives. The foundation has awarded more than $300,000 in academic scholarships and supported various educational and community programs.
Awards recognize top finishers, including the top three overall male and female, master and grand master winners, and the top three male and female in multiple age groups from 9 & under through 75 plus.
