Runway 5K at Memphis International Airport
The Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority (MSCAA) hosts the 2nd Annual Runway 5K on September 19, 2026, at Memphis International Airport (MEM), Winchester Road, Memphis, TN. The event gives registered participants the opportunity to run a 5K on one of MEM’s runways and to view aircraft landing and taking off from close range. The course takes place on airport grounds and provides access to areas normally closed to the public.
Only registered attendees will be admitted for security reasons. There will be no day-of-event registration and no area for spectators. All attendees age 3 and older must register; children age 2 and under may enter without registration if accompanied by a registered guest. Children 14 and under must be accompanied by a registered adult. Registration closes September 13.
Race participants will receive a T-shirt and a special finisher medal. Proceeds support the Memphis International Airport Community Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that focuses on civic engagement, education, sustainability, health, and community-supporting initiatives. The foundation has awarded over $300,000 in academic scholarships and has supported educational, career development, and community programs.
Registration fees are nonrefundable unless the Refund Protection Program was purchased. Race management reserves the right to cancel or modify the event due to unfavorable conditions, and fees are not refundable in the event of cancellation due to Acts of God.
