Event details
The CLT Runway 5K will take place on October 18, 2025, at Charlotte Douglas International Airport. The run is held completely on the airport runway and taxiways and is described as a flat course. Participants will park at Charlotte Premium Outlets and travel by bus to the secure airfield where the race occurs. The event is the 18th annual Runway 5K and is sold out; participation is limited to 1,500 runners. The distance is 5K.
Entry and policies
All participants must show a valid REAL ID or passport to gain entry to the race area; the ID must match the information provided at registration. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by a registered adult. Bags are not permitted into the event; diaper bags are allowed but subject to search. There are no refunds for this race; transfers are allowed until October 13, 2025. Race management may cancel or modify the event due to unfavorable conditions, and registration fees are not refundable in the event of cancellation due to Acts of God. Proceeds support Airport Opportunity Scholarships with Central Piedmont Community College for Title 1 eligible graduates from Charlotte-Mecklenburg schools.
