Beast of the East 100 - Crowders Mountain, Kings Mountain NC
Beast of the East 100 is a trail race held on December 12, 2026, at Crowders Mountain near Kings Mountain, North Carolina. The event includes multiple distances that share a common trail network centered on the Crowders Ridge start/finish area and uses established trails such as Tower, Rocktop, Crowders, Pinnacle, Turnback, Fern, Ridgeline, and access to Wolf's Den, 161, and Boulders aid stations.
Distances offered
- 100 Mile : roughly 101 miles total, three full loops plus a final partial loop.
- 100K : approximately 67.35 miles, two full loops plus a final partial.
- 50 Miler : about 53.79 miles, two loop format.
- Marathon : single-loop route using the same trail network.
- Half Marathon : shorter route finishing at Crowders Ridge.
Elevation gain is provided per distance: Half Marathon 2,326 ft, Marathon 4,766 ft, 50 Miler 9,538 ft, 100K 11,862 ft, 100 Mile 17,925 ft. Four aid stations are on course: Crowders Ridge, Wolf Base, The 161 Aid Station, and Boulders Access. Aid station food includes basic items and some hot options; drinks include Tailwind, water, and sodas. Trekking poles are permitted. Pacers are allowed for the 100K and 100 Mile events after 50 miles. Time limits apply: Half Marathon none, Marathon 10 hours, 50 Miler 30 hours, 100K 30 hours, 100 Mile 34 hours.
