Run/Walk for the Greenway 5K & Fun Run
The 29th annual Run/Walk for the Greenway takes place in Salisbury, North Carolina, at 1825 Park Road West, Salisbury, NC 28144. The event comprises a community 5K run/walk and a half mile kids fun run held along the local greenway. Race bags and door prizes are part of the event. The course is described as mostly flat and scenic.

The half mile fun run will be an out-and-back route on the greenway. The 5K begins near Overton at approximately 1900 West Park Drive at the second driveway by the baseball field. The course runs southwest on West Park to a turnaround near 1635 West Park Road, returns toward the school, and then follows a route that includes Hickory Drive, East Park Road, West Park Road, the greenway to Prescott Drive, Knollwood, Courtland Drive, Wake, a Prescott cul-de-sac turnaround, and a final stretch on the greenway back toward Overton to the finish beside the breezeway at Overton.
Awards include top three overall male and female in the 5K, age group prizes for top three in each listed age group, top three overall in the fun run, and medals for other fun run participants ages 8 and under. Dry fit shirts are guaranteed to pre registered 5K entrants and cotton shirts to pre registered fun run participants. Walkers are eligible for age group awards. Participants may donate canned goods or old running shoes to Rowan Helping Ministries for a chance to win $50 Downtown Salisbury Dollars. Timing and scoring are provided by Salisbury Rowan Runners.
