Event Information
The SURF Board Popsicle 5K is the 13th annual event in Mocksville, North Carolina. The main event is a 5 km run/walk. There is also a Zero K event for non-participants who wish to support the cause. The event takes place at Mocksville Elementary School.
Purpose and Activities
The event is organized by the Davie Community Foundation SURF (Students Understanding Real Futures) Board, a youth philanthropy board. All proceeds support youth-led projects in Davie County through grants.
It is described as a family event with several activities. Participants receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win prizes. There is a costume contest for the most creative wintry costume. The "Brain Freeze Challenge" involves eating a popsicle at the start, middle, and end of the race. Children aged 8 and under who are not running can be entertained by SURF students.
Participation and Rules
Walkers are welcome. All participants must sign a waiver. No pets are allowed on the course. Food will be available after the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
