Jackalope Trail Run
The Jackalope Trail Run takes place on July 11, 2026 at Monte Sano State Park, 5105 Nolen Ave SE, Huntsville, AL. Organized by RunningLane Events, this race is the second event in the Wild Thangs Trail Series.

The event is capped at 400 runners. Registration closes Wednesday, July 8 at 11:59 PM CT. All participants in the Jackalope 4 Mile and 8 Mile receive a short sleeve tri-blend t-shirt and a finisher award; the shirt design is the same for the entire series. Packet pickup for Jackalope is scheduled for Friday, July 10, 2026 from 12:00 to 5:00 PM at the RunningLane store, 2407 Memorial Pkwy SW, Huntsville, AL 35801, with limited pickup available the morning of the race.
Courses are described as spectator friendly and include bluff views, mountain scenery, creek crossings and waterfalls. Several aid stations are placed on course offering water, Gatorade, coke, GU, pretzels, M&M's, granola bars and similar items. All RunningLane Events trail races are cupless; runners must carry a handheld bottle, pack or reusable cup. A RunningLane reusable cup is available for purchase at checkout for $5.
Cutoffs are very loose with a 17 minute per mile cutoff for Long Series participants. Age groups span 0-19 through 70 plus. Marco's Pizza is a race sponsor and pizza is provided at the finish line. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
