Big Foot Trail Run - June 20, 2026
The Big Foot Trail Run is a trail race held in Huntsville, AL at 5105 Nolen Ave SE on June 20, 2026. The event offers the following distances:

This race is the first event in the Wild Thangs Trail Series, a four-race summer series that runs from June through August. Series options include short and long bundles; series entrants receive a series t-shirt, finisher awards, and a series plaque. Individual Big Foot participants receive a t-shirt and finisher award.
Courses feature bluff views, mountain scenery, creek crossings, and waterfalls. Several aid stations are provided on course offering water, Gatorade, cola, GU, pretzels, M&M's, granola bars and similar items. The event follows a cupless policy: runners must carry a hand-held bottle, pack, or reusable cup. A RunningLane reusable cup is available for purchase for $5.
The field is capped at 400 runners. Packet pickup is available at the RunningLane store located at 2407 Memorial Pkwy SW, Huntsville, AL, with additional morning pickup options on race day. The race shirt is a short sleeve tri-blend. Age groups run 0-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+. Organizers may delay or cancel for severe weather; average summer temperatures in Huntsville range from lows around 65–75F to highs around 85–95F. Long Series participants should note a 17 minute per mile cutoff; otherwise cutoffs are very loose. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
