Ship Bottom Brewery's Running With the Sharks 5K
Ship Bottom Brewery's Running With the Sharks 5K is a community 5K run held in Beach Haven, New Jersey, with the course starting and finishing in the northeast corner of Veterans Park across from the Engleside Inn. The event is organized by Ship Bottom Brewery in partnership with Second Capital Running and takes place at the brewery location on Engleside Avenue.
The race uses chip timing with instant results. Awards are given to the top three male and female overall finishers and in age groups including 14 and under, 15–19, and ten-year age groups up through 60+. Separate awards are presented to the top five first responders and the top five active service members or veterans; participants must opt in during registration to be eligible for those categories and doing so makes them ineligible for age group awards.
Packet pickup is available on race day at Veterans Park. The event operates as a cupless race with no on-course hydration; chilled water will be available at the finish area. Shirts are available for an additional fee during registration and registering by May 28 guarantees shirt availability and other swag. Dogs on leash are permitted on the course and pet owners are responsible for waste removal. Street parking is available within walking distance of Veterans Park. No gear check is provided.
