Running with the Bulls - Alaska
Running with the Bulls is an annual fundraiser held at the Musk Ox Farm in Palmer, Alaska. The event offers multiple participation options and takes runners through pastureland that surrounds the farm.
The event distances include:
- 1K kids fun run for ages 0 to 7, parents welcome
- 5K run or walk through pasture and perimeter
- 10K run across the property
- Virtual option to participate remotely
The course traverses the perimeter of the farm's 75 acre property and uses mowed pastureland for its entire length. No section of the route is paved; participants will encounter uneven footing and hills. Much of the course is exposed with limited shade. Water is not provided on the course, though there is water available for filling bottles or hydration packs before and after the event. Light snacks are provided and restroom options include outdoor washrooms and indoor facilities. Parking is limited. Strollers are permitted and an all terrain stroller is recommended. Participants will pass areas not usually open to the public and will have views of the Chugach and Talkeetna mountains while musk oxen remain in their pastures and observe; stopping to view or touch the animals along the course is not allowed. Virtual participants are advised to register at least three weeks in advance to receive event shirts by race day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
