Running with the Bulls - Alaska
Running with the Bulls is an annual fundraiser held on the Musk Ox Farm property in Palmer, Alaska. The event offers several entry options and takes runners and walkers through the pastures and along the perimeter of the farm’s 75-acre property. Participants see musk oxen from their pastures rather than running alongside them.
Distances available:
- 1K kid's fun run for ages 0-7, parents may join.
- 5K run/walk across pastureland.
- 10K run across the property.
- Virtual entry with mailed race items if registered early.
The course is entirely unpaved over mowed pastureland, with uneven footing and hilly sections. Much of the route is unshaded. Water is not provided on the course; water is available for filling bottles or hydration packs before and after the event. Restroom options include outdoor washrooms and indoor facilities. Strollers are permitted; an all-terrain stroller is recommended for this surface.
Other event notes include limited parking, light post-race snacks, bib pickup on the day before and on race day, and a commemorative race t-shirt for participants. No stopping to view, petting, or touching the musk oxen is allowed. The event provides views of the Chugach and Talkeetna mountains and access to parts of the property not usually open to the public.
