Events
The event includes two main activities: a 5K Run/Walk and a 3K Walk.
The 5K Run/Walk is a professionally chip-timed event. It takes place on a mixed-terrain course that includes wooded and open field trails, park roads, grass, and gravel. Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in each age category, as well as to the top overall male and female runners and top male and female masters runners (50 years and older). Winners receive a custom medal and pure maple syrup from Bendix Woods County Park.
The 3K Walk is a non-competitive scavenger hunt on similar, relatively flat surfaces. It is not timed. All walk participants receive an official Certificate of Completion and a handcrafted participation medal. Children can also pick a nature prize.
Venue and Course
The event takes place at St. Patrick's County Park in South Bend, Indiana. Participants should be aware that the park trails contain unmarked tree roots, loose gravel, and ruts, and may be muddy or slick. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
