Running the Grove 5K
The 16th Annual Running the Grove 5K honors the life of Jeff Putman. The event takes place at Liberty Grove Baptist Church in Loretto, Tennessee, at 768 Fairview Road.
Race options include:
- 5K
- 1 Mile Fun Run
- 4 Miles (Both)
Registration opens July 10, 2026 and closes September 13, 2026. Entry fees listed are $25 for the 5K and the 1 Mile Fun Run, and $30 for the combined 4-mile option. Runners who register before the event t-shirt deadline are guaranteed a short-sleeve race shirt.
Packet pick-up and in-person registration are available on race day at the church, and race day registration is allowed up to shortly before the 5K begins. Group packet pick-up is permitted with full names provided.
Awards include a trophy for overall male and female winners and medals for first and second place in age divisions. Age groups are Under 12, 13-15, 16-25, 26-35, 36-45, 46-55, 56-65, and 66+. The event is professionally RFID chip timed by Race Ready Events. Neither the 5K nor the 1 Mile courses are certified. The 5K course includes hills with grades of approximately 5 to 10 percent.
Free on-site parking is available at Liberty Grove Baptist Church. Strollers are allowed at the back of the pack; bicycles, scooters, skateboards and similar devices are not permitted on course.
