Running Scared 5K - Barclay Downs
Running Scared 5K is a Halloween themed community running event in the South Park area of Charlotte with both in person and virtual options. The event is based at MOTION Fitness, 2101 Rexford Rd #50w, Charlotte, NC 28211. Proceeds support Carolina Breast Friends.

The event encourages costumes and family participation. Onsite activities listed include kids face painting, games, a costume contest, an expo with exhibitors, food trucks, beer, and music. Every participant receives a t shirt if registered before the stated cutoff; t shirt styles include Ghost, Monster, Pumpkin, or Regular while inventory lasts. Finisher medals are guaranteed for the in person 5K.
Timing is provided by Start 2 Finish using ChronoTrack systems; disposable timing tags are distributed during packet pickup. Awards are presented to the top three overall men and women and first place in each age group according to the listed divisions. Registration fees are shown for both in person and virtual entries and registrations are non refundable and non transferable. Runners must observe a 15 minute per mile pace limit required by local authorities; participants walking slower may be required to use sidewalks to finish.
