Running Scared 5K and 13K
Running Scared takes place on October 18, 2026 at Green Lake Park, 7201 E Green Lake Dr N, Seattle, WA. The event offers in-person and virtual formats with multiple race options.
Distances offered:
- 5K Scaredy Cat and virtual Scaredy Cat
- 13K Heart Pounding and virtual Heart Pounding
- 18K Deadly Double combining the 5K and 13K
Registration opens July 8, 2026. In-person registration closes October 11, 2026 and virtual registration closes October 12, 2026. Registration fees vary by event and option, ranging from $30 to $55.
All participants receive a long sleeve race shirt and a custom finisher medal. Virtual entrants can run where and when they choose and have race swag mailed to them. The Deadly Double requires completing the 5K and then completing the 13K for a total of 18K; Deadly Double finishers receive an additional finisher medal.
Awards are planned for the Top Three Male and Female Overall finishers in both the 5K and 13K, and for Top Three finishers in Masters, Grand Masters, and Senior Masters Overall categories. Age group awards are given to the top three athletes in traditional five year age groups. Special recognition is noted for the Top Three Male and Female Deadly Double finishers.
