Running Scared 5K and 13K - Dawsonville
The Running Scared event on October 17, 2026 takes place at Rock Creek Park in Dawsonville, GA. The event offers two in-person distances plus virtual participation and a combined Deadly Double option that requires completing both distances.

The course is described as super flat inside Rock Creek Park and is family and spectator friendly. The 5K course is certified, which can support personal record attempts or preparation for the Peachtree event.
All registered athletes (except those who choose no shirt) receive a long-sleeve race shirt and a custom finisher medal. Shirts are guaranteed for participants registered by October 7; after that date shirts are available while supplies last.
Awards are given to the Top Three Male and Female Overall finishers in both the 5K and 13K, and to the Top Three in Masters, Grand Masters, and Senior Masters Overall categories. Age group awards are presented for the top three in each traditional five-year age group for both distances. Special recognition is awarded to the Top Three Male and Female finishers of the Deadly Double.
