Running Scared 5K & 13K - Dawsonville
Running Scared takes place on October 17, 2026 at Rock Creek Park, 445 Martin Rd., Dawsonville, GA. The event has a Halloween theme and encourages costumes.
Distances offered include:
- 5K in-person and virtual
- 13K in-person and virtual
- Deadly Double 18K (complete the 5K then the 13K)
All in-person athletes receive a long sleeve race shirt and a custom finisher medal. There are no-shirt registration options for some entries. Virtual participants can run where and when they prefer, submit a time, and have race swag mailed to them.
The in-person Deadly Double requires completion of the 5K and then the 13K to total 18K; the in-person version notes a time window to return between races. Virtual Deadly Double participants complete the same total distance remotely and are eligible for the Deadly Double finisher medal and shirt.
Awards are presented for top finishers: top three male and female overall in the 5K and 13K, top three in Masters, Grand Masters, and Senior Masters overall categories, plus top three in each five-year age group. The Deadly Double also receives recognition for top three male and female finishers.
Registration opens March 19, 2026 and closes March 31, 2026. Registration fees vary by entry option and range approximately from $20 to $50. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
