2026 Running Out of Time 5k & 12k - Burke Lake Park
This event offers road and trail running options through Burke Lake Park in Fairfax Station, Virginia. It includes two distances:
- 5k
- 12k
Both courses use Shelter C as the event area. The route is mostly paved with a short gravel section. The 5k has limited elevation gains while the 12k includes a few hills as shown on the course maps. Water stations are placed along each course: two stations on the 5k and six stations on the 12k; Gatorade is available at some stations.
Participants receive a finisher’s medal, a technical (DriFit) event shirt, and chip timing. A virtual race option is available for those who cannot attend in person. Packet pickup is offered at the event and race day registration is available, though shirt sizes cannot be guaranteed for same-day registrants.
The race awards the top three men and women overall and awards first and second place male and female in the following age groups: 19 & under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+. Top three overall finishers are not eligible to also win age-group awards.
The event benefits We Rock Cancer. Live results are posted during the race and final results with series points are posted after the event. Banditing is not allowed and may result in removal or disqualification. The organizer operates as an all-weather race company; officials may delay or cancel the event for safety.
