Running Between the Vines
Running Between the Vines takes place at Sandhill Crane Vineyards in Jackson, Michigan on October 3, 2026. The event features multiple race distances that finish on the vineyard grounds and a post-race area with live music, wine tasting, and food.
Distances
- 5K
- 5 Mile (actual distance about 5.22 miles)
- Half Marathon
Course details note surface and scenery: the 5K runs on paved roads through a tree-lined neighborhood. The 5 Mile begins on pavement, includes several miles on dirt roads, and finishes on pavement. The Half Marathon uses quiet country roads and travels through the Waterloo Recreation Area, with much of the course on well-maintained dirt roads.
Packet pickup is at Sandhill Crane Vineyards on the Friday before the race and on race day at the vineyard. Race day parking is at East Jackson Elementary School, about 0.5 mile from the registration tent; Walz Road closes for part of the event, and parked vehicles must use the school lot accordingly.
Cutoffs are defined for each distance: 60 minutes for the 5K, 2 hours for the 5 Mile, and 3.5 hours for the Half Marathon; half marathon runners must reach 9.5 miles by the stated cutoff to continue. Aid stations include one water stop on the 5K, two on the 5 Mile, and multiple stations every 2–3 miles on the Half Marathon with water and Gatorade; a mid-course station offers GU gel.
Every finisher receives a custom medal. Overall awards go to the top three men and women, with age-group awards three-deep in five-year age groups. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
