Runner in Red 5K Run/Walk : March 20, 2027, East Meadow
The Runner in Red 5K Run/Walk is a charity road event held in East Meadow in March 2027 that benefits Barb’s Beer Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charity that raises funds to cure lung cancer. The event takes its name from the novel "Runner in Red"; proceeds related to the book help support the same cause.
The event features a USATF certified 5K course. Additional activity includes a free kids fun run for younger participants. Runners aged 21 and over are offered a complimentary Barb’s Beer as part of event provisions.
Logistics include both in-person and virtual bib options. A Self Lookup area is available for participants who do not know their bib number. Virtual bibs are shipped within a window that can begin about one week prior to the event and continue to about one week after the event. Awards are given for top overall female and male finishers, top three male and female in standard age groups (10 & under through 80+), and a largest team award.
