Runner In Red 5K Run/Walk 2027
The Runner in Red 5K Run/Walk in 2027 takes place at East Meadow and supports efforts to cure lung cancer. The event is associated with the novel "Runner in Red" and fundraising tied to Barb's Beer and related activities. Registration is not yet open.
The event format includes:
- 5K run/walk
- Free kids fun run
A complimentary Barb's Beer is provided to participants aged 21 and over. The event uses a USATF certified 5K course. Live results are provided online, by email, and by text, and same-day finish line photos and race video are available.
Awards include trophies for the top female and top male overall, medals for the top three male and female finishers in each age group, and a largest team award. Age group medal categories are: 10 & Under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80+.
Bib pickup is available in person with a Self Lookup option for those who do not know their bib number. Registering at least three weeks in advance qualifies for a personalized race number. Virtual bibs are shipped, with a shipping window from one week before the event to one week after the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
