Runner In Red 5K Run/Walk is a USATF certified 5 kilometer road event staged at Eisenhower Park Field #2. The event includes a separate kids fun run and offers both in-person and virtual participation options.

The event is associated with the novel "Runner in Red" and supports the Runner in Red / Barb’s Beer Foundation, a 501c3 charity that raises funds to cure lung cancer. Runners aged 21 and over are offered a complimentary Barb’s Beer as part of the event experience. A virtual option ships bibs to participants, with a shipping window that ranges from one week before the event to one week after.
Bib pickup is available in person and via shipped bibs. Registrants who register at least three weeks in advance may receive a personalized race number. A self lookup area is available for participants who do not know their bib number at pickup.
Awards include top female and top male overall trophies, top three male and female finishers in standard age groups from youth to 80 plus, and a largest team trophy. Live online, email, and text results are provided, along with free video and same‑day finish line photos and additional photos shared on social media.
