Trail Running in Penn Run
The Run With The Deer Flies is a trail running event hosted by the Indiana Road Runners Club. The event takes place in Penn Run, Pennsylvania, utilizing a course located at 1966 South Harmony Road. Runners can choose from three different trail distances:
- 25 km trail run
- 15 km trail run
- 8 km trail run
Participants across all three distances receive finisher medals. Additionally, the event provides participants with a race t-shirt and traditional fly swatters. Artisan-made wooden bowls serve as awards for the top male and female finishers in each distance category.
The event features a post-run meal consisting of breakfast and lunch options, including pizza. During the course of the event, twelve participants are selected through a drawing to receive gift cards for a local restaurant in Clymer. The 25 km course features varied terrain, as indicated by the available elevation charts. Registration is open to the public via online platforms or printed applications, with no specific qualification standards required for entry.
