Elderton Plumcreek Recreation Park 38th Annual 5K Run/Walk
The event is the 38th annual 5K run and 5k walk held in Elderton, Pennsylvania, at Elderton Plumcreek Recreation Park near 320 Calhoun St. The course is a USATF certified original route through the town and is described as slightly rolling. Splits are provided at 1 and 2 miles. Water stations are available on course and post race refreshments are provided.
Timing is provided by Miles of Smiles Timing Services and results are posted online. Day of registration and check in take place at the recreation park. Advance entry fees are listed at fifteen dollars, with a higher fee for day of registration; advance registration includes a T shirt while supplies last and day of registrants may not be guaranteed a T shirt.
Awards are presented after the event and include top three male and female overall, top three in each age group for the run, top three male and female walkers, oldest and youngest finishers, and the first Elderton Volunteer Fire Department finisher. Age group categories are 10 and under, 11 to 15, 16 to 19, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, and 70 and over. Food trucks will be present at the park.
