Event Overview
Run Wild for Wildwood is a regional running event held at Wildwood Park in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. The course utilizes the park's natural trail systems and historic pathways. Participants travel counterclockwise around the park, following the Wildwood Way trail and the Towpath, which runs alongside the Pennsylvania Canal and Wildwood Lake.
Distance Options
Participants can choose between two primary distances:
- 3.1 Miles: A 5K run or walk consisting of a single loop around the park.
- 6.2 Miles: A 10K run consisting of two complete laps around the park course.
Participant Information
Registered participants receive a t-shirt and a "swag bag," which can be collected at the Olewine Nature Center in the days leading up to the race or on the morning of the event. Every finisher is awarded a medal upon completion of their distance. Recognition is provided for competitive performance, with awards given to the top three male and top three female finishers with the fastest times overall in both the 5K and 10K categories.
The event supports Wildwood Park through registration fees and additional donations. These funds are used for park maintenance and the development of educational programming and public events.
