Run Whitstable & Herne Bay Spring
The Run Whitstable & Herne Bay Spring event takes place along the Kent coastline, offering a fast and flat out-and-back course that starts and finishes at the Hampton Pier Recreation Ground in Herne Bay. Participants run along the waterfront, passing through scenic locations such as Studd Hill Beach, the Long Rock nature reserve, and Tankerton Beach with its traditional bathing huts.
Available distances include:
- 5 km
- 10 km
- Half Marathon
The 5 km race follows a 2.5 km stretch before turning back toward the start point. The 10 km follows a similar out-and-back format. For the Half Marathon, participants complete an initial 1.1 km section toward Hampton before passing the start line to complete the full 10 km section twice.
The event includes chip-timed results, a marshalled course, water stations, and aid stations. A bag drop service is available at the event village. All participants receive a finisher's medal upon completion. While the 5 km and 10 km distances are open to all ages with parental supervision, participants in the Half Marathon must be at least 17 years old.
The event hub is located a 10-15 minute walk from Herne Bay Railway Station, which is served by high-speed trains from London St Pancras. Limited parking is available at Swalecliffe Avenue, with additional space suggested at Hampton Pier Avenue. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
