Canterbury 10 Mile Road Race

The Canterbury 10 Mile is a road race based at the University of Kent Sports Centre (CT2 7NL). The event uses a new course to the north of Canterbury and is run on an undulating route that is largely traffic free.

The route begins with a loop around the university before completing a larger loop toward Whitstable, passing through the villages of Tyler Hill and Radfall, then following the Crab and Winkle Way back to the university finish close to the start. There are two water stations on course at about 3.5 miles and 7.8 miles. The race is marshalled throughout and medical cover is provided. The course is not suitable for wheelchair competitors. Only bone conduction headphones are permitted; conventional earphones and amplified music are not allowed.

Race HQ is at the University of Kent Sports Centre where registration, bag drop and the prize presentation take place. The baggage area is in Small Hall 2 and bag tags are attached to race numbers. Toilets, limited changing areas, refreshments and post-race snacks are available near the sports hall. Parking is provided in nearby university car parks (Giles Lane, Darwin/Rutherford and overflow at Keynes and Eliot); attendees are asked not to park in the Park Wood or Sports Pavilion areas. Vehicles and their contents are left at owner’s risk.

The event is licensed by England Athletics and organised by Invicta East Kent AC. A bespoke finisher medal is awarded and cash and trophy prizes are offered for overall and age-group places; team prizes are also available. Free photographic downloads and results will be published after the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
