Event overview
The Canterbury 10 Mile Road Race is scheduled for 25 January 2026 and is organised by Invicta East Kent AC. The event is a 10 mile road race on a new course to the north of Canterbury. The course is described as undulating and largely traffic free. The event is licensed by England Athletics and is not suitable for wheelchair competitors. Only bone conducting headphones are permitted; conventional earphones are not allowed and may lead to disqualification.
Location and logistics
The race HQ and start/finish are at the University of Kent Sports Centre, Sports Centre Road, Canterbury CT2 7NL. Parking is available in the Giles Lane and Library Road car parks (CT2 7NB) and Keynes car park (CT2 7NP); vehicles are left at owner’s risk and attendees are asked to use authorised campus car parks only. Race registration and bag drop take place in the main sports hall; bag drop is located in Small Hall 2. Timing uses disposable chips attached to race numbers. Number distribution is alphabetical by surname and ID is required for collection. The event is open to entrants aged 17 and over on the event date. Entry is listed at £32.
Course, services and prizes
The route includes an initial one-mile loop around the university, a larger loop toward Whitstable via Tyler Hill and Radfall, and a return along the Crab and Winkle Way to the university finish. There are marshals on course, medical cover, and two water stations at 3.5 miles and 7.8 miles. Toilets are available at the sports centre and Jennison College, with limited changing areas and refreshments on sale. Finishers receive a bespoke medal; cash prizes and trophies are awarded to 1st–3rd male and female and to specified age categories.
