Event details

The Canterbury 10 Mile is set for 25/01/2026 with a new course to the north of Canterbury and a new race headquarters at the University of Kent Sports Centre. The race is held on an undulating, largely traffic-free course. It is fully licensed by England Athletics and organised by Invicta East Kent AC. The course is not suitable for wheelchair competitors. Only bone-conducting headphones are allowed; conventional earphones are not permitted and users may be disqualified.

The revised route begins with a one-mile loop around the university, then continues on a larger loop toward Whitstable, passing the villages of Tyler Hill and Radfall, and returns along the Crab and Winkle Way to finish near the university on Sport Centre Road. There are two water stations, at 3.5 miles and 7.8 miles. The event offers a bespoke finisher medal, cash prizes and trophies for 1st to 3rd male and female, age-group prizes (Male 40+, 50+, 60+, 70+; Female 35+, 45+, 55+, 65+), and team prizes for male teams of four and female teams of three. Free photographic downloads will be provided after the race.

Logistics and facilities

Race HQ is the University of Kent Sports Centre. Registrations take place in the main sports hall, which also provides toilets, refreshments for sale, a prize presentation area, and limited changing facilities. The baggage area is in Small Hall 2; bag drop tags attach to the race number and all items are left at the owner’s risk.

Number and disposable timing chip collection can be done on race day or the day before in the sports centre foyer. Numbers are distributed in alphabetical order by surname and ID will be required. Parking is available near race HQ in Giles Lane and Library Road car parks (CT2 7NB) and Keynes car park (CT2 7NP); parking elsewhere on campus may cause obstruction and vehicles are left at the owner’s risk. Medical cover and marshals will be on course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
