Event Details
The Thanet Coastal 10 & 5 Mile offers two race distances: a 10-mile and a 5-mile run. The event uses a majority of a historical route along the Thanet Coast in East Kent, featuring coastal views. It takes place in early December.
Course & Location
The course is an out-and-back route along the coast. The event starts and finishes at Palm Bay School in Margate. The route is described as mostly flat, with a few inclines.
Facilities & Features
Facilities at the venue include indoor registration, toilets, a baggage drop, and refreshments. All finishers receive a commemorative medal. Results are posted live online via a chip timing system.
Awards & Entry
Prizes are awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd male and female finishers overall, and to the 1st male and female in the VET40, VET50, and VET60 categories.
Entry fees for the 10-mile race are £28 for affiliated runners and £30 for unaffiliated runners if booked in advance. On-the-day entry is £35, subject to availability. For the 5-mile race, advance entry is £24 (affiliated) or £26 (unaffiliated), with on-the-day entry at £30. Advanced entries close at 1 PM on the Wednesday before the event.
Participation Rules
Under UK Athletics rules, the minimum age for the 10-mile race is 17 on the day of the event. The minimum age for the 5-mile race is 15 on the day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
