Thanet Coastal 10 & 5 Mile
Thanet Coastal 10 & 5 Mile returns in 2026 at Palm Bay School, Palm Bay Avenue, Margate CT9 3PP on 6 December 2026. The event offers two distance options:
- 10 mile
- 5 mile
The route uses the majority of the Alan Green Thanet 10 Mile race route that was organised by Thanet Roadrunners for many years, with some changes. The course runs along the Thanet Coast in East Kent and provides far reaching views out to sea.
Every finisher receives a commemorative medal. The event includes refreshments, music and commentary, and provides a live feed of results so times are published shortly after crossing the line. Prizes are awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd male and female finishers, plus 1st male and female VET40, VET50 and VET60.
Facilities at the venue include full refreshments, a baggage drop and toilets. Entry fees for advanced entries are listed separately for affiliated and unaffiliated runners and higher rates apply for on the day entries, which are subject to space. Advanced entries close at 1pm on the Wednesday before the event. Under UK Athletics rules the minimum age is 17 years for the 10 mile race and 15 years for the 5 mile race.
