Run Whitstable & Herne Bay - September 2026
This event at Hampton Pier Recreation Ground in Herne Bay, CT6 8EJ offers three distances along the Whitstable coastline. Distances are available for community entries and each finish includes a medal and supporter refreshments.

The course runs mostly on path, is described as flat, and organisers recommend road running shoes. The 5k turns back at 2.5 km and the 10k turns back at 5 km. The half marathon begins with a 1.1 km out and back toward Hampton and Herne Bay, then returns past the start to complete the full 10k section twice. The route is wheelchair friendly and buggies are permitted, and the course may be altered up to event day if required.
Race services include chip on bib timing, instant live results via Results Base and a results tent on site, marshals around the course, and water at the start, finish and along the route. Runners collect race packs on the morning of the event and race numbers are published in entrant profiles in the week before the race. Trophies are awarded to overall winners and sweets or partner products may be provided at the finish.
Parking near the hub is limited and a nearby public car park opposite the event hub holds up to 100 cars. Herne Bay railway station is about a 10 to 15 minute walk to the event hub, which sits on the large grassed area left of the children’s play area at Hampton Pier Recreation Ground.
Entry fees shown for the event are: Half Marathon £30 with 200 places available, 10k £25 with 200 places available, 5k £25 with 200 places available. Entries close on 30 August 2026 unless the event sells out. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
