MCRRC Run Under the Lights
The MCRRC Run Under the Lights is a 5K Run/Walk held on 11/21/2026 at Seneca Creek State Park in Gaithersburg, Maryland. The City of Gaithersburg, in partnership with the Montgomery County Road Runners Club, organizes the event as part of the Winter Lights Festival. Winter Lights includes more than 380 illuminated vignettes and 65 animated displays. Participants use the roads through the park during the event; roads will be closed to traffic except for emergency vehicles and those required for race management. Race registration includes entry to the park and on-site parking is free.
The event lists a general 5K Run/Walk with a registration fee of $43 and a reserved City of Gaithersburg staff entry at no fee. Registration opens 10/1/2026 07:00 and closes 11/21/2026 12:00. Because of the time of year, inclement weather is possible. The race is a sellout event and typically sells out in a few days; once capacity is reached a waitlist will be in effect and organizers cannot admit participants above the permit limit.
