Run Unbridled Track Fest
Run Unbridled Track Fest is a track and field event held at the George Mason University outdoor track facility in Fairfax, Virginia. The meet is hosted by the Light Horse Track Club and features a variety of races ranging from community and youth sections to professional heats. The event is USATF certified and professionally timed, utilizing a seeded format where runners are placed in heats based on their entry times.
The race program includes several distances and disciplines:
- 800m
- Mile (including a youth mile for ages 13 and under)
- 5000m (5k on the track)
- 2000m Steeplechase (open)
- 3000m Steeplechase (open and select)
- Distance Medley Relay (DMR) (1600m, 1200m, 800m, and 400m legs)
Specific time cutoffs apply to various sections. Participants in the 5000m must be able to complete the distance in 30:00 or faster, while the open Mile and 800m require paces of 10:00 per mile and 8:00 respectively. The facility features an outdoor track, and the nearby fieldhouse is available for attendee use.
The event atmosphere includes a DJ, live announcing, and food trucks. Spectators are required to purchase tickets for entry, with children aged four and under admitted for free. Parking is available adjacent to the track complex, and the location is accessible via regional transit, including Metro Bus, Cue Bus, and shuttles from the Vienna/Fairfax/GMU Metro stop.
