Event Overview

The Run to Remember is the 19th annual event held to remember fallen officers. It takes place on April 25, 2026, at the Junction City Shopping Center on North Prospect Road in Peoria, Illinois.

Races

The event features two distances:

A timed 5K run/walk.
An untimed 1 mile walk.

Both courses start and finish on N Humboldt Avenue, behind the Junction City Shopping Center.

Schedule & Logistics

Packet pickup is available on Friday, April 24, at RC Outfitters on SW Water Street, and on the morning of the event at the Junction City location. Registration fees for both races are the same and increase after April 5. Event shirts are guaranteed for registrations completed by April 5.

Beneficiary & Timing

All proceeds from the event benefit the Illinois Chapter of Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.), an organization that supports the families of fallen officers. Professional timing and scoring for the 5K are provided by ShaZam Racing.

Awards

Awards are given in several categories for the 5K. These include overall top male and female, top three officers, and top three males and females in various age groups. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
