The Hampden Township Veterans Recognition Committee (HTVRC) organizes the HTVRC Run To Remember on Saturday, May 23, 2026. HTVRC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit focused on honoring veterans past, present and future. The event takes place at the Captain Leon Lock Veterans Memorial Grounds in Enola, Pennsylvania.
The Run To Remember is a 3-mile run/walk that follows a course through the Captain Leon Lock Veterans Memorial grounds, a landmark veterans memorial located off Interstate 81 in Hampden Township. Proceeds from the event support the committee’s programs, including direct assistance to Pennsylvania National Guard service members and their families, scholarship opportunities for local high school seniors, and efforts to expand and enhance the Captain Leon Lock Veterans Memorial for the central Pennsylvania community. The committee also organizes several observances and community events throughout the year related to veterans and military commemoration, including National Vietnam Veterans Day, Memorial Day, Patriot Day, Veterans Day and Pearl Harbor Day.
