About the race
Run to END Weekend Hunger 5K is a community running event at Seward Park in Seattle that raises support for Backpack Brigade, a weekend hunger relief organization for schoolchildren in Washington state. The event notes that Backpack Brigade provides food to more than 5,000 students a week in 107 schools in King County.
The event program includes:
- 5 km Run/Walk
- Kids Dash for children 7 and under
Registration opens January 6, 2027. Published fee tiers include an Early Bird rate of $35, a rate of $40 after April 15, and a day of race fee of $45. Children aged 5 and under are free and ages 6 to 17 have a reduced fee of $10. Groups of four or more receive a $5 reduction per registration. Race day packet pickup and registration are available.
Participants are encouraged to wear costumes, with examples suggested such as superhero pairs, Disney pairs, or family costumes. After the event there will be coffee, snacks, vendors, and other on site offerings. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
