The course covers approximately 13 miles / 21.1 km with an ascent of around 300 m and runs across undulating chalk hills and through local woods. The event is scheduled as a half day.

Groups are led by English Athletics qualified Run Leaders and include trail running instruction. Participants are grouped by ability; the stated fitness guideline is the ability to run 10 km on the road in 90 minutes or less. First time half marathoners and first time trail runners are welcome. Steeper sections are walked as needed.

Practical details noted by the organiser include on-site parking, rail access with the start about a 15 minute walk from the station, and facilities at the venue such as a cafe, toilets and a bag drop. A refreshment point is provided roughly halfway. The event is dog friendly when cani-cross equipment is used.

What is included are a refreshment point, a Run Leader, a finisher’s medal and a Trees not Tees Certificate. Personal insurance and travel are not included. Spaces are limited to 50. Organisers aim to respond to bookings within one business day and provide joining instructions and spectator information in a pre-event briefing.
