Run the Vineyards - Sheldrake Point Winery 5K
Run the Vineyards is a chip timed 5K held at Sheldrake Point Winery in Ovid, NY, on property that includes vineyard trails and views of Cayuga Lake. The course runs across a 200 acre vineyard and uses wide trails composed of short cut grass and packed dirt. A water station is located on course, and water plus bananas are provided at the finish.
The event is capped at 250 participants and enforces a one hour time limit. Walkers and children may participate but must be registered and start behind the runners for safety. Results are live streamed.
Awards are given to the Top 3 overall and to age group winners by gender in categories including under 14, 15-19, 20-29 and every ten years thereafter. All participants receive a custom tech shirt in youth or adult sizes or may upgrade to a racerback tank for an additional fee. A stemless Run the Vineyards wine glass is provided at the finish and a complimentary glass of wine is offered to finishers age 21 and over. Wine will also be available for purchase.
Additional amenities include free downloadable photos, free parking, and souvenir finisher medals available during registration or on race day while supplies last. The event is rain or shine and there are no refunds or deferrals. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
