Event overview
The Middle Finger 5K is a sunrise run and fitness walk held in Geneva, New York on May 9, 2026. This is the 9th annual edition. The event takes place at the Finger Lakes Welcome Center (35 Lakefront Dr.) and includes a post-race light breakfast featuring a breakfast burrito. Registration includes a commemorative 2026 MF5K unisex shirt. The event is open to ages 3 to 99.
Charity and impact
The race benefits Thrive To Survive. One hundred percent of donations and proceeds are directed to that organization to provide resources for adults in Ontario, Seneca, Yates, and Wayne counties who are in treatment for a cancer diagnosis. Thrive To Survive reports having helped 800+ families and offers services such as emotional support, wellness programs, comfort care packages at oncology offices, financial assistance, meals, and other local support.
Logistics and participation
A check-in party is held on the day before the race in the Community Room at the Finger Lakes Welcome Center. There is downtown Geneva parking within walking distance of the start and finish, and a Lake Tunnel is noted for safe pedestrian crossing under Routes 5 and 20. Teams of five or more receive discounted entries; when a sixth team member registers they receive a $5 reduction and the original five are refunded $5.
