Run the Vineyards - Down the Shore 5K is scheduled for Sunday, October 18, 2026, at Cape May Winery, 711 Townbank Road, Cape May, NJ 08204. The event is the 14th annual Cape May Winery "Run the Vineyards" and lists Headstrong as its charity partner.
Race details
The event features a 5K chip-timed run/walk on a mostly flat, paved course that includes a 1/4 mile segment through a vineyard. Results are live-streamed and race photos are made available for free download approximately 24 to 48 hours after the race. Entry price is $42.
Race amenities include a custom tech tee (with an option to upgrade to a long sleeve for $6), a stemless "Run the Vineyards" wine glass, and a glass of Cape May wine included with entry. Wine-stopper finisher medals were introduced in 2025 and are offered for $8 during registration or $10 on race day. Awards are given to the top three overall and age group male and female winners; age groups include 14 & under, 15-19, 20-29, and every 10 years thereafter.
After-race features listed by the organizer include a live musician until noon and the winery's Tapas Kitchen. The event is rain or shine, has no transfers or refunds, welcomes spectators, and offers packet pick-up on race day from 7:30 to 8:30 AM at the "Good Day for a Run" tent behind the winery.
