Event Overview
This is the 14th annual Run the Vineyards - Down the Shore 5K. The event is hosted at the Cape May Winery in Cape May, New Jersey.
Course Details
The course is a chip-timed 5K run/walk. It is described as mostly flat and paved, with a quarter-mile section that goes through the winery's vineyard. The event welcomes walkers and participants of all ages.
Included with Registration
Registration includes a custom tech tee. An upgrade to a long-sleeve version is available for an extra fee. Youth, women's, and adult/men's sizes are offered. Each entry also includes a glass of Cape May wine and a stemless "Run the Vineyards" wine glass. A wine-stopper finisher medal is available for separate purchase.
Post-Race Activities
A post-race party takes place in the vineyard area. Awards are given to the top three overall and age-group winners. The after-party features live music until noon. The winery's tapas kitchen is open, and spectators can purchase wine.
Logistics
The event is held rain or shine, with no refunds or transfers. Packet pickup and check-in for all participants is on race day from 7:30 AM to 8:30 AM at a tent behind the winery. Results are live-streamed, and free downloadable photos are typically available 24-48 hours after the race. The charity partner for the event is Headstrong.
