Rylie's Smile Turkey Escape 5k & 1m
Rylie's Smile Turkey Escape 5k and 1 mile takes place on Thanksgiving morning, November 26, 2026, at Thompson Island Brewing Company in Rehoboth Beach, DE. The event benefits Rylie's Smile Foundation and directs proceeds to children with severe lifelong or terminal diagnoses.
Distances and categories include:
- 5k run/walk
- 5k competitive walking - must walk the entire race, no running
- 1 mile non-competitive walk
- Kiddie K for ages 9 and under, free
Pre-race activities include live music and packet pick-up the day before at the brewery. The first 400 registered participants receive a long sleeve cotton Turkey Escape shirt while supplies last. Ample free parking is available at the venue.
Post-race amenities and services include refreshments provided by the American Legion, beer and seltzers for participants 21 and older, pre-race coffee and snacks, a 50/50 raffle, and a drone footage booth. Awards are given to overall and masters winners, age group top three finishers, top walkers, the largest team, and for a turkey costume contest where top winners receive pies. Timing uses chip timing with the MYLAPS BibTag system and results will be posted online.
