Course Details
The main 5K race is held at Pryor Field Airport in Tanner, Alabama. The course is USATF-certified and described as flat and fast. It begins at the Airport Authority Flight Center and takes participants along portions of an active airport runway and taxiway, past open hangars with aircraft, by a helipad, and through a World War II hangar.
The event also features a shorter Fun Run, which is described as a kid-friendly dash on the airport grounds.
Amenities & Logistics
All participants receive a short-sleeve technical race shirt, a sponsor-filled race packet, and special access to view the aircraft on site. Food trucks will be present.
Awards are given for the 5K in multiple categories, including overall winners, Masters (40+), GrandMasters (60+), and age group winners. The event is professionally chip-timed.
On-site parking is free, with overflow parking available at Calhoun Community College. Strollers and leashed, well-socialized dogs are permitted at the back of the pack. Only runners, joggers, walkers, baby strollers, restrained pets, and wheelchairs are allowed on the course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
