About the race
The Run the Runway event takes place at Baxter County Airport in Midway, Arkansas on October 24, 2026. It offers a community-focused race and walk that use airport grounds and the runway as the course.

The event is organized to bring the airport and the community together and to highlight the role of Baxter County Airport. Proceeds support aviation scholarships through the Leading Edge Aviation Foundation.
Packet pickup and on-site registration are available on race day. The entry fee is $25. Participants receive a race day t-shirt if they register by the registration deadline. The event uses chip timing, and finishers receive medals; age division medals are awarded three deep. There is an aid station on the course that participants will pass twice, and post-race snacks are provided.
The course runs on airport grounds and the runway with a short bonus partial loop at approximately the half mile mark. Volunteers will guide participants around the route. Overall awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers, and age group awards are given for divisions 0-9, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 plus.
