Spirit Of Syllamo
The Spirit of Syllamo is an ultramarathon held in the Ozark Mountains near Norfork, Arkansas. The event takes place at a venue at the base of the mountains by the White River.
The race offers two distance options: 100 Miles and 38 Miles. It is considered a challenging event on highly maintained singletrack trails that are described as rugged, rocky, steep, and densely forested. The course crosses paved roads but does not use pavement as part of the running route.
Lodging is available at the start/finish line or within a five-minute drive. There are a few locally owned restaurants nearby, with more options approximately 15 minutes to the north. The event features aid stations described as well-stocked and substantial.
All runners receive a race shirt, stickers, and some sponsor giveaways. The event has a family-friendly atmosphere with food, music, and activities post-race. Meals are provided for all runners. Finishers of the 38-mile distance receive a laser-engraved award. Finishers of the 100-mile distance receive a large laser-engraved award and a belt buckle.
