David's Trail Endurance Run

David's Trail Endurance Run is a winter trail event held along David's Trail around Lake Norfork in Mountain Home, Arkansas. The route goes through Robinson Point, Panther Bay, and Bidwell parks and uses a mix of single-track and double-track trail. The course includes substantial elevation gain - more than 2,500 feet for the 25K and more than 5,000 feet for the 50K. Proceeds support trail expansion.

The event offers multiple distances:

  • 50K more than 5,000 ft elevation gain
  • 25K more than 2,500 ft elevation gain
  • 7K shorter loop option

This is a cupless race. Aid stations are stocked, but participants must carry their own handheld, reservoir, or obtain an approved cup option. Race-day weather in February can vary widely, from warm and sunny to snowy conditions. The 50K run has an overall nine-hour cutoff and intermediate checkpoints; runners who miss checkpoint cutoffs will be pulled from the course.

Course layouts were adjusted in recent years, so separate records apply to earlier and current course versions. The most recent recorded best times include a 50K mark of 5:30:38 (2026), a 25K time of 1:39:09 (2022), and a 7K time of 00:31:29 (2026). The event meets ATRA event standards and offers on-site lodging options at the Rocking Chair Resort and other nearby accommodations. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
